1993-2001 Honda Prelude Idle Air Control Valve - Standard Motor Products AC193
The Idle Air Control Valve on the 1993-2001 Honda Prelude regulates idle speed, raising and lowering it as needed. It does this by opening and closing a "trim" valve to allow more or less airflow into the intake manifold when the throttle is closed. If your idle fluctuates at stop signs, you should try adjusting the valve, which you can identify as being the cylinder on the driver side of the intake manifold, with the triangular cap with 3 screws. To adjust the valve, first pull out the screws, then take off the cap, and finally twist the outer white ring clockwise until it's as tight as possible. If this doesn't solve your problem, you might have to replace the valve with an aftermarket part manufactured by Standard Motor Products.
