Replacement Ignition Lock Housing Information
Choose from top brands including: GenuineFebiDormanOEMAC DelcoMeyleReplacementDIY SolutionsSKP
When you start your car, you insert a key into the ignition. This mechanism is essentially a switch that initiates the starting sequence which supplies electricity to the starter and turns over the engine. Over hundreds and thousands of times starting your vehicle, the ignition mechanism takes a lot of abuse, but it needs to stand up to it because it is such an essential part of the vehicle. As an electromechanical device it is also important to guard against any corrosion of the contacts. This is why it is contained within a rugged canister called the ignition lock housing. This protects the overall mechanism from wear and tear and has the added benefit of protecting the ignition from someone attempting to tamper with it or start the vehicle without the key. The housing encases the ignition lock and ensures that as a discrete unit it is protected and secure. When you picked your car, you made an asset that would be in your life for years to come; insure your ride by installing world-class replacement parts. Sometimes you need to get an auto part for safety or performance needs, or maybe it's an item to enjoy; either way, acquire the highest level of reliability you're able to afford. You invested in a beautiful car or truck, and you should let it keep on running strong with our online collection of reliable vehicle parts from PartsGeek.com.

Ignition Lock Housing Information
The Febi ignition lock housing may need to be replaced if it gets damaged from heavy keys or roughly jamming keys into the lock.

The Febi ignition lock housing surrounds and protects the lock for your vehicle's ignition. For some vehicles the ignition lock housing may not include the electronic components. The lock cylinder may or may not be coded. One of the fastest ways to wear out this part is to use keys with very heavy keychains. This pulls on the housing for the ignition lock, causing wear. You can find this part and others for your vehicle here at PartsGeek.com. To get the right part, order using your make, model, and year.

What Are Some Concerns With the Ignition Lock and Housing?
The ignition switch in your car or truck relies on functioning wires to perform. If the wires are left exposed, they could be subject to weakening and wearing out. If this happens, you may experience problems starting the vehicle. Without proper housing, the wires are more vulnerable to someone starting the automobile who doesn’t have the key. Keep yourself behind the wheel and maintain your investment by proactively caring for your ignition and its protective housing. You want your car or truck to be there and ready to go when you need it. Don’t wait until the situation becomes more serious before you resolve issues with the lock housing.

Fast shipping. Part works as it should. Would use this seller again. - Ron
First time using parts geek not sure what to expect.
I will be back here thats for sure, with the service and quickness from ordering to delivery was pretty damn quick.
My car was off the road for only 3 days ordered delivered installed easy as that.
Only fault i had was the part did not come with the bolts to install, so i had to cut slots in the old allowing me to re-use them.
Other than that the partts were what i needed ( i didnt know for sure what was wrong with the ignition but seemed obvious this was the problem and it was) everything working great,
Thanks Parts Geek - Degz
