Often compared to the Skier, the Audi TT Quattro is a top-rated significant travel vessel. It was designed in 1994 and created into a concept car in 1995. The release of the vehicle was the most dramatic of its time in the mid-90s. The design was to thank for this; it even set the bar for many other car makers in the industry. From the interior to the exterior, the Audi TT was a successful hit in the auto market. It was named after the Tourist Trophy motorsports event that was held in the Isle of Man. It is a two-seater sports car and has four-wheel-drive. There are seats in the back, but there’s hardly room to place anything there. This dynamic vehicle offers quality, so it deserves quality. When giving it maintenance and repairs, you should make sure to invest in quality parts for better results.

Audi TT Quattro

In 1998, Volkswagen's Audi division introduced the Audi TT Quattro. The word "Quattro" is an Italian term referring the the vehicle's all-wheel drive system, while the TT itself is small sports car, available in both coupe and roadster configurations.

The TT shares a platform with the Audi A4, including its power train and independent front suspension which employs MacPherson struts. Although it is a German-manufactured car, the TT was actually designed in California at the Volkswagen Group Design Center in 1994. It was introduced the following year at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept car. Because of technical issues however, it did not arrive in dealer showrooms until 1998.

The standard engine is a transversely mounted, 1.8 liter, turbocharged inline four with a multi-valve system. A 3.2 liter VW VR6 engine was also available. This engine is a V6 with an unusual configuration of offset cylinder banks, covered by a single cylinder head. Initially, the TT was available with manual transmission only. Eventually, options included five and six speed manual transmissions and a six-speed "Tiptronic" automatic transmission. The larger engine model also offered a direct-shift gearbox model, allowing for manual shifting without a clutch. This was enough to send the Audi TT Quattro 0-60 in a respectably short interval.

Although marketed as a sports car, the TT's performance and handling is not exactly that of its cousin, the Porsche. Handling is above average, but acceleration and performance is not up to that of its market competitors. Instead, the emphasis has been on its unique body styling, its comfortable ride characteristics and the Quattro all-wheel drive system that make it nimble and sure-footed compared to other small coupes and roadsters.

Today's TT Quattro offers a luxuriously-appointed interior, with a choice of leather or simulated suede upholstery, a 12-speaker Bose stereo audio system with satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity. Although it is classified as a coupe or roadster, there is a small back seat, which is impractical for anyone but those five feet and under. (The reasoning for small jump seats in sports car is to skirt auto insurance practices; insurance on a two seater can cost far more than it would for a four-seater.) Other amenities include a generous 23 square feet of cargo space (with the rear seats folded down), heated seats, and an onboard navigation system.

There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for a used Audi TT Quattro. Models built before 2000 were subject to a recall over the rear hub carrier ball. This component had a tendency to corrode and seize up prematurely. The 2001 and 2002 Audi TT Quattro also had issues with the ignition coil. 1999-2003 models were the cause of action in a class-action lawsuit over defective instrument clusters. You'll want to be sure these issues have been addressed before committing to the purchase of such a vehicle.
