Volkswagen Transporter
The Volkswagen Transporter is a heavy duty van that is designed for commercial purposes, but can also be used as a passenger vehicle. The design is a furtherance of the VW Type 2 vans that were manufactured from 1950-1990. These trustworthy vans are a joy to drive, well built, and the fuel economy is favorable. The first generation Volkswagen Transporter (1990-2003) was the T4. In 1996 it had a minor adjustment to the front end that lengthened the nose. The T5 (2003 - present) is the current version and is able to carry larger loads due to its ample rear. With over 12 million units sold worldwide, the Transporter is the best-selling van in history. The name comprises a multitude of vehicles, including vans, minivans, minibuses, pick-ups, and campervans. Improved engines, cab interior and technology make certain that Volkswagen's sixth generation Transporter will remain a popular choice.
The introduction of Euro 6 diesel engines is due to become standard in September 2016. As the van retains the same internal proportions as the previous model, returning customers should have no trouble moving racking systems and regular loads into the newer vans. While the Euro 5 engines will be familiar to existing Transporter drivers, they seem to be both quieter and smoother in the newer vans. Now-standard Start/Stop is quick to cut in, dropping fuel consumption and noise when in town driving. Those who are ready to move to Euro 6 engines early will discover an even more refined driving experience, particularly in the more powerful models that easily meet the challenges of the motorways. Transporter's front-wheel-drive delivers safe, assured handling and the steering is both light and direct on country roads or when negotiating congested urban streets. There is an impressive array of safety equipment in the latest Transporter, including the usual ESP and ABS braking as well as Automatic Post-Collision Braking. The vans also come with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Change Assist, Hill Hold Assist and a Driver Alert system. The options list includes High Beam Assist and front fog lights with integrated cornering lights.
Oil leaks can be common on these vehicles, and you should inspect the area around the bottom of the engine to see if there is any oil leaking. The most common leaks are on the oil pump and the camshaft oil seal. While inspecting the engine area, you will have to check carefully to identify where the leak is coming from. Once you have identified the problem, you will need to replace the seal that is broken. Another problem you may have is snapped rear suspension springs, which cause irregularities in the suspension at the rear of the vehicle. To identify this problem, have a look under the rear and if you notice a jagged edge sticking out near the top, then your spring has snapped. You will need to replace the broken spring to resolve the issue. for all replacement needs, go to PartsGeek.com, where you will find a large catalog of Volkswagen Transporter oem and aftermarket parts at affordable prices.

This was the first site that actually had the part available! The price was very reasonable even when compared to a similar part for a 1978 Bus. I received the part the next business day even though I only paid for standard ground! I order this as part of my spare parts box for my bus.I check-out the part and it works great! Thank you and I will order parts again! - Tim Allison
