Jeep Liberty
Anyone who has ever driven or ridden in a Jeep Liberty can remember this experience with a sense of nostalgia. It is no surprise to read various Jeep Liberty reviews with positive comments about the design of this versatile automobile.
The predecessor to the Jeep Liberty is a compact SUV called the Jeep Cherokee. The launch of the Jeep Liberty was in 2002 when the Jeep Cherokee was discontinued. With the launch of the Jeep Liberty, the Jeep manufacturer created an economical option for consumers. Changes to the Jeep Cherokee's design included a better interior, new safety features, all-wheel disc brakes and the addition of a six-disc CD changer. There were also three trims initially available for the Jeep Liberty. The three trim levels consisted of the Sport, Renegade, and the Limited trims.
The original Jeep Liberty had many of the design components Jeeps are known for. Characteristics included great suspension travel, a rugged build able to withstand different terrains and climates, and the option to withstand being driven off-road. The Liberty was manufactured with the capability to tow upwards of 5,000 pounds and was said to be one of the most robust automobiles at the time it was launched. Other models of SUVs did not possess these characteristics, and the popularity of Jeep Liberty increased as it was found to be comfortable while driving in the suburbs or going off-road.
Anyone wanting a 2004 Jeep Liberty for sale would be more than satisfied with passenger grab-handles, an easy to open sun roof, new wheels, new trims, and connections for hands-free cellphone calls. The Jeep Liberty 2005 retained many of the original features, but also added fender flares, fog lights, a new fascia and the option to have a diesel engine. So it can be said the Jeep Liberty 2005 diesel was the first time this type of engine was used in the Jeep Liberty. Along with a diesel engine, the 2005 Jeep Liberty boasted a new six-speed manual transmission updated from the previous five-speed manual transmission. Jeep downsized the amount of different trims available, as the Jeep Liberty Renegade was no longer offered. The 2.8-liter diesel engine was removed along with the discontinuation of the diesel engine in 2007. The manufacturer began to look for additional ways to improve the Liberty, so a four-wheel drive and the well-known Sky Slider sunroof were placed in Jeep Liberty models in 2008. During this time, consumers were given a great powertrain warranty, and it was guaranteed by Jeep to last a lifetime.
More changes were added to the Jeep Liberty in 2010 with a newly designed trim for the Renegade. The 2011 model boasted a steering wheel along with an upgraded infotainment console. The year had the addition of two new trims - the Artic and Jet trims.Consumers would be able to also use parking sensors on all Jeep Libertys. Changes to the Jeep Liberty design continued in 2012 with four-wheel drive and a better suspension. In 2012, the Jeep Liberty was discontinued with the introduction of harder emission laws in 2007 for automobiles containing diesel engines.
