Dodge B250

Keep your classic Dodge van cruising safely and comfortably with the help of PartsGeek.com. Turn to our comprehensive inventory of auto parts for key replacement parts and convenient aftermarket accessories for your B250. This iconic line of Dodge vans was manufactured from 1971 to 2003, so any van you may be driving may need a range of maintenance parts to continue to cruise confidently.

Signs That Your Van Needs Maintenance

The B250 van is a reliable vehicle, but there are some key maintenance signs you should watch out for. Here are some of the most common signs that it's time to order auto parts from PartsGeek.com:

  • Check engine light turns on
  • Grinding sounds while braking
  • Whirring or clunking sounds while driving
  • Burning smells
  • Reduced engine performance or fuel economy
  • Unusual handling

It may not be immediately obvious what part is causing these maintenance signs, but every sign should be treated seriously until you identify and repair the component. Failure to replace a maintenance part could lead to a costly repair task.

For newer B250 vans, the check engine light and other warning lights provides a convenient way to pinpoint the affected area. Connect an error code reader to your van and see what sensor is alerting your engine control unit. This points to the damaged system or faulty sensor that needs to be replaced in order to restore your ride.

Other warning signs are more obvious. Grinding while you're braking is commonly caused by worn-out brake pads. Inspect your brake rotors and calipers before you order to see if it's time to take on a more extensive brake repair project.

Dodge B250 Common Repair Tasks

Now that you know what signs to look for, it's time to review the best ways to repair different Dodge van faulty parts. Because of the wide manufacturing range, the exact steps required to replace most parts can vary. Be sure you use year-specific repair guides before you take on a DIY task. Here are tasks you can easily perform to save you money and maintain your vehicle:

  • Replacement sensors and car battery

  • Fluid flush and replacement
  • Filter replacement

1986 Dodge B250 Tail Light Assembly

Reviewer: Perfect replacement

This was the perfect replacement for my Dodge. The only piece that needed to be replaced was the gear housing cover. The cover incorporates a rubber spacer that holds the plastic gear down to make contact with the metal gear, and it was completely worn off of the old cover. This was a cheaper fix than buying the complete motor. Good!
