Now in its fourth generation, the Nissan Altima continues to generate strong demand among consumers – so much in fact that Nissan had to open a second US factory in 2004 in order to fill all the orders. You may have been one of them; if so, you've come to appreciate its combination of roominess and economy. It is important that regular upkeep be performed on these vehicles; a badly out-of-tune engine can waste up to 10% of its fuel, and when filters become dirty, this further compromises performance. Replace these components regularly and you'll avoid being the victim of a roadside breakdown; in addition, your vehicle will continue to run at peak performance for years to come.

Nissan Altima
Since its inception in 1992, the Nissan Altima continues to be recognized year-after-year as one of the most affordable and safest family vehicles on the road by the NHTSA and IIHS. The Nissan Altima is famous for its fuel economy and promising performance on the road. The car consistently delivers skilled handling and a forgiving ride. In its class, the Altima is known to have one of nicest cabins thanks to high-quality construction, simple controls and comfortable seats.
Looking back on the 1992 Altima, it's almost unrecognizable, as the designs have come a long way since then. Despite the fact that today's Altima's aren't as sporty as previous designs have been, these conservative, yet sophisticated cars are just as stylish, fuel-efficient and fun to drive as they have always been - and they're still as big of a competitor in the midsize car segment now as they were when they first rolled off the production line in the early 90s.
There are five main generations of the Nissan Altima. With a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, 150-horsepower engine, the first generation Altima was introduced in 1992 and was produced through 1997. The interior and exterior were both very simple and the exterior was rounded. In 1994, Nissan introduced the standard passenger airbag. The second generation Altima rolled out in 1998 in the United States only, but it wasn't until 2000 that the Altima featured a four-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower and an updated suspension system. The third-generation Altima debuted in 2002 as a larger midsize vehicle that could hold five passengers comfortably. It was this generation that the exterior finally changed significantly - and in a good way, with a curvaceous and sleeker body - and the 240-horsepower, V6 engine was also offered, along with various standard features, such as the remote keyless entry, cruise control and air conditioning.
In 2007, for the fourth generation Altima, the suspension was revamped for more stability and improved handling, the exterior was remodeled to be sportier and the interior was redesigned so that it featured a push-button ignition and a roomier cabin. This was also the year that Nissan introduced the first-ever Altima Hybrid, and the Altima Coupe was introduced in 2008. This generation Altima comes with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine or the optional 3.5-liter, V6 engine. The fifth and current generation of the Nissan Altima rolled out in 2013 and offers consumers more bang for their buck than ever before in terms of fuel efficiency, styling, power and safety. Still offering the 2.5-liter, four-cylinder or the 3.5-liter, V6 engines, this generation of Altima's sees many improvements, including a classy exterior, well-equipped cabin, improved braking, enhanced suspension and improved fuel economy. The Altima Coupe, unfortunately, was discontinued in 2014.
While the Altima Coupe is no longer with us, the Nissan Altima Sedan won't be going anywhere in the foreseeable future. With that being said, you will want to ensure that you maintain your vehicle with the best Nissan Altima aftermarket parts that you can find. When you are ready to gain the performance that you have been craving or would like to enhance the overall appearance of your car, look no further than the Nissan Altima parts for sale here at PartsGeek.com.
