BMW 325 Replacement Steering Rack Information
The steering rack is an essential part of the rack-and-pinion assemblage that allows you to navigate your BMW 325 on the roads. It's a perpendicularly oriented tube that terminates on either end with a specialized piece of equipment called a tire rod. When you turn your steering wheel, the pinion on the end of the steering shaft interfaces with the steering rack. This spins the tie rods, which interface with steering knuckles on the wheels, translating the rotational movement of the steering wheel into the forward movement of the wheels. When your steering rack is defective, your steering wheel will begin to shake when you try to turn it.
