Jeep Grand Cherokee Replacement Steering Damper Information

The Grand Cherokee has been on the market for a long time. One of the reasons it has become popular is because of the steering performance and its off-road capabilities. When you turn the wheel, you expect it to respond appropriately - and without giving you too much feedback. The steering damper is the part that controls excessive feedback. If you're driving along and hit a bump, the damper absorbs the shock so that your steering wheel doesn't jump to one side. If you have a faulty damper and you don't replace it sooner than later, you could end up losing control of your Jeep.

While some of the newer Jeep Cherokees have gotten rid of the damper in favor of a higher level of technology, there are still model years that require it. At Parts Geek, you can find the Grand Cherokee Jeep steering damper you need.

Reviewer: Good product

Product was as advertised and fixed my fronted issues. Would recommend. Have purchased other products for my front suspension and we're easier to purchase the control arm with the bushing installed, rather than trying to save money by doing it myself.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Steering Damper

Somewhat Satisfied
Reviewer: Only one drawback - no boot included.

This is a great part and a good price. However, I would have liked for it to have come with a dust boot, as my rear shocks of the same model and manufacturer did. Since it's a suspension part with a chrome piston, I believe it should have come with a dust boot included, and it did not. I had to purchase aftermarket dust boots from Rancho Suspension - they fit perfectly - at my local auto parts store. Other than this small issue, I am extremely satisfied with the performance of this product, and all Pro Comp shocks/struts/dampers that I have purchased here.
