Lincoln Navigator Replacement Shocks Information

Lincoln designs cars which are made to ensure the highest performance, and that means the Navigator doesn't perform as intended without the correct high-performance auto parts and accessories. For years Lincoln has engineered rock solid and reliable cars that car buyers can depend on to do the job. Advanced security options are offered with every auto designed by Lincoln. Driving an auto from Lincoln ensures dependability and makes your everyday travels safe, relaxing and enjoyable. To keep the quality and comfort you bought with your Lincoln Navigator, it's critical to buy only the very best OEM and upgrade parts. If you're in the market for a Lincoln Navigator then you must care about quality, so quality parts must also be a priority. If a problem comes up or a part needs to be replaced, don't economize with a second-rate part. That Lincoln Navigator needs efficiency-optimized parts to come through with maximum power. Your car or truck is outstanding because of its great performance and great style, so to keep it going in its best condition you need the best in top-notch parts. Decent Lincoln Navigator Shocks dissipate energy caused by bumps on the street to offer a more stable ride. Placed between your suspension and the frame of the automobile, Lincoln Navigator Shocks absorb the up-and-down movement of the vehicle. Lincoln Navigator Shocks operate as firm coil springs which look similar to hydraulic pistons, moving fluid from a main chamber to a secondary chamber which softens jolts and jars as you drive. Shocks are split two fundamental varieties: spring shocks which contain coil springs, and torsion-based shocks which rely on a torsion bar.

They are available for the following Lincoln Navigator years: 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 09, 08, 07, 06, 05, 04, 03, 02, 01, 00, 99, 98. Research on Shocks for Lincoln Navigator

The shocks on your Lincoln Navigator allow a smooth ride no matter what kind of road conditions you drive in. Without good shocks, you and your passengers will bounce around as if it were a funhouse ride. Worn, leaky, and broken shocks cannot absorb the vertical motion from bumps, potholes, and debris on the road. You may start to feel the difference gradually, which is typical of suspension issues, or symptoms may appear more suddenly. Replacing the shocks will restore the quality of your ride. The costs, however, are unavoidable unless you obtain the parts from an online supplier.

Signs of Lincoln Navigator Suspension Problems

Once the shocks go bad, there's no going back. The noise and bouncing will not go away until the problem is fixed. You'll hear knocking sounds every time the SUV goes over a bump. The bounces can be bad enough to propel you out of your seat. You could upgrade to a 2004 Lincoln Navigator air suspension conversion kit, but any type of new shocks will do. A front end problem is evident when the vehicle nosedives upon braking, and when the rear of the SUV squats during acceleration. Tires can bounce if the shocks aren't working right, and enough to lift off the pavement. Leveling issues can also wear them out faster, and cause an uneven pattern of wear on the rubber treads.

The shocks can leak like many other parts of a car can. Hydraulic fluid will escape the shocks if the seals are damaged or the shock absorber cylinder has corroded. If enough fluid drains out, the piston can no longer dampen the shocks it was designed to. Handling will suffer as well. The vehicle will shift from side to side at random and if there is any wet pavement or even a wind gust. Any swaying motions can damage the brakes, which can be a dangerous situation.

How Long Do Shocks Last in a Car?

It may be four or five years before you have to get new shocks or a 2001 Lincoln Navigator air suspension conversion kit. There is no number of miles you can expect shocks to last. If the vehicle is used under extreme conditions, the shocks will wear out sooner.

Are Shocks Important?

Shocks are important for comfort inside the vehicle and for tire control. The primary function of shocks is to stop the tires from bouncing so they have a firm grip on the road. Their role is to manage handling, steering, and braking.

Cost of Shocks Repair

Both front struts/shock absorbers in the 2003 Lincoln Navigator suspension run $424 to $486 to replace. It's just $223 to $256 for one side. The cost of replacing two rear shock absorbers is $147 to $346. When it comes to cheaper parts of the same quality, search the PartsGeek.com catalog for exactly what you need. Our prices are low because it costs less to run our online business than a brick and mortar store. You can therefore fix your shocks and have more money left over.
