Shock absorbers are found in two fundamental forms: spring-based shock absorbers which use metal coil springs, and torsion dampers which contain a torsion bar. Placed between the suspension system and the body of the vehicle, Chevrolet Venture Shocks reduce the bouncing motion of the vehicle. Chevrolet Venture Shocks behave as strong springs which look very similar to hydraulic pistons, shifting oil from chamber to chamber which cushions jolts as you drive. Chevrolet Venture Shocks contain a metal spring mounted within a tube that augments the car or truck's suspension system. Quality Chevrolet Venture Shocks dissipate energy from irregularities on the road to offer a more stable drive.

What are Chevrolet Venture Shocks?
Your shock absorbers work with the suspension system to provide a smoother ride. There are two main types of shocks: Spring-based shocks feature a metal coil, while torsion dampers work with a torsion bar. Chevrolet Venture Shocks are located between the suspension and the vehicle body, and work to contain the bouncing motion when your vehicle travels over bumps or objects in its path.

How Do I Change a Shock Absorber?
Secure the vehicle with wheel blocks at the opposite end from where you are working. Raise the vehicle with floor jacks and use stands. Next steps are:
- Remove the bolt from the upper shock first and slide the shock absorber out from the bottom.
