Research on Shock Absorber for Volkswagen Beetle

Volkswagen's Beetle is one of the oldest nameplates in automotive history. Its legend began in 1934 Germany, and the car was sold in the United States between 1950 and 1979. Sales resumed in 1998 when it received its first major redesign. Overall, the New Beetle was little more than a fourth-generation Golf, but it had a retro appeal that made it popular with young people. Among its more ridiculous features was a built-in flower vase. The New Beetle died after 2010, and the re-christened "Beetle" debuted in 2012. In its first year, VW offered a base trim level for the Beetle. It was cheaper than the 2.5L, but came with manual transmission only and lacked certain features such as Bluetooth.

The Beetle is an intriguing compact car that minimizes the function of a more conventional hatchback in favor of distinctive styling inside and out. Beneath its styling is a mix-and-match of features coming from the previous-generation Golf and current-generation Jetta. Unfortunately, the driving experience for the Beetle is hindered by the car's lackluster handling and steering. It also suffers from compromised rear visibility and less rear passenger and cargo space than you'll find in most conventional hatchbacks.

Shock absorbers ensure that the Beetle's tires remain in contact with the road surface at all times. One way to make sure they are working properly is to subject your car to the bounce test.

How do I perform the bounce test?

Simply push down as hard as you can on either the front or the back of the car and then quickly let go. If the car does not bounce when your body weight is removed, the shock absorbers are doing their job. If the vehicle bounces when you let go, bad shock absorbers are probably to blame.

Why does my car rock when I travel over rough surfaces?

Most likely you have heavily worn shock absorbers. Along with an unpleasant ride this rocking and rolling can be putting unwanted pressure on other car components and should be dealt with as soon as possible. If there are bald patches or uneven wear on your tires, it is a sign that your tires don't have optimal contact with the road. This will influence car control and tire grip and both should be checked and replaced.

When it comes to repairing a Volkswagen's suspension system, no other brand does it better than Monroe Monro-Matic Plus shock absorbers are equipped and engineered using the latest technologies to achieve superior performance on the road. they are furnished with Monroe's patented Velocity Proportional Valving technology, which ensures the vehicle has balanced damping when it accelerates. This OE replacement component is also charged with nitrogen gas and features an all-weather fluid, which allows it to withstand even the toughest road conditions.

What is the Volkswagen Beetle shock absorber replacement cost?

PartsGeek stocks the Monroe Monro-Matic Plus shock absorbers. for the. Sample prices are $32.98 for the 2003 Volkswagen Beetle and $15.98 for the classic 1969 Volkswagen Beetle.
