Research on Shock Absorber for Nissan Pathfinder

Your shock absorbers keep your ride smooth. If they start going bad, even a relatively smooth surface will feel like a rocky landscape. That's not why you invested in your Nissan Pathfinder. Fortunately, shock absorbers for all model years can be replaced at a reasonable cost. A mechanic can switch out your shocks for new ones so you'll be back on the road quickly.

Identifying a Shock Absorber Problem

The saving grace about shock absorber problems is you can usually feel them. The Nissan Pathfinder suspension is designed to handle just about anything. When you start to feel excessive bouncing, or your vehicle shifts unexpectedly from side to side, it is time to check your shocks. Your SUV may no longer stay level. Bad front shocks can cause the vehicle to nosedive when you hit the brakes. Faulty rear shocks will cause it to dip in the rear when accelerating. From tire bouncing, to fluid leaks, there are numerous signs to look for. Replacing bad shock absorbers will restore the normal handling of your vehicle as soon as they're replaced.

Shock Absorber Replacement Costs

Shocks for the Pathfinder are generally less than Nissan Xterra shock absorbers. Accounting for the Nissan Pathfinder auto parts themselves, total replacement costs are about $129 to $161 for one rear shock absorber, while both 2001 Nissan Pathfinder struts cost about $222 to $276 to replace. The front shock absorber is $304 to $426 to replace and both are around $563 to $795. Prices around the same for more recent model years.

What Are the Shocks on a Car?

A shock absorber is engineered for one purpose. It takes on the up and down forces from the road, absorbing the motion so you don't feel it. Basically a cylinder, piston, and oil, it is in almost constant motion when you are driving.

Do Car Shocks Leak?

One of the signs of a bad shock absorber is an oil leak. You may see it leaking down the side of the shock or strut, and the problem may be accompanied by uneven wear on your tires. A leak should be taken seriously. While it might be just the start of a problem, letting it go can lead to issues with other parts of your suspension, or other Nissan Pathfinder auto parts, down the line.

Finding a Deal on New Shock Absorbers

Nissan Pathfinder struts and shock absorbers add to your vehicle's maintenance costs. If your 2001 Nissan Pathfinder struts, for example, are starting to go bad, you can find replacements for less by going to Nissan Pathfinder strut replacement therefore becomes less of a burden on your wallet, and you don't put off an essential repair. All of our automotive parts and accessories are sold via the Internet, eliminating the operating costs of a traditional store. The savings are passed on to every customer. You therefore spend much less on parts than from anywhere else, and keep the maintenance expenses on your SUV at a manageable level.

Best purchse for me went from kyb to these its night and day ive read reviews of people saying its almost the same, this is not true the price difference is not much also. But the drivability of the truck is so much better for those who own nissan pathies know the car tends to wallow and sway but with these as upgrades over my kyb ohh man now i know for my pathfinder its bilsteins...

I also have the airbags for the springs and did not realize 1 of them was broken and decided to take it off and low and behold the car drives the same smooth and controled these are not the softest shocks but i will take that very little roughness to be able to take a turn or change lanes without getting seasick
