Research on Mirror for Ford Mustang

Changing lanes or reversing are just a couple of the frequent uses you get from the mirrors on your Ford Mustang. Most people learn to drive with three mirrors, and when one of them is broken or missing, driving becomes harder and more dangerous. Shopping for a Ford Mustang mirror can be daunting, particularly if you are looking for a specific mirror to match a special option on your car, but looking at your existing mirrors can be a great starting point.

Purpose of Mirrors

The Mustang side mirrors shrink the dangerous blind spots on either side of your car. Without these mirrors, the chance of an accident is increased, and you could face getting a ticket for not having the minimum number of mirrors on your vehicle. The rearview mirror inside the car makes it easier to back out of or into parking spots, and you can see other cars on the road behind you without turning your head away from the road. Power mirrors have the added advantage of allowing you to make adjustments right from the driver's seat, but not all Mustang models were equipped with this feature. Those models had manually adjusted mirrors, which usually cost less and offer the same field of view as power mirrors with slightly less convenience.

Damage to Mirrors

The mirrors are subject to damage perhaps more than other parts on your car. Side swipes will easily dislodge the side mirrors, and using too much force to adjust the rearview mirror can cause it to fall off. Many times, the loss of a mirror is through no fault of your own, but replacing the part is not too difficult, as long as you get the same type of mirror that was previously installed on your Ford Mustang. For instance, 1965 Mustang side mirrors are not the same size or style as those used on Mustangs of the 1980s or of today.

Cost for a Ford Mustang Mirror Replacement

The cost for a replacement mirror for your Ford Mustang depends on the model year and whether you need power mirrors or manual. Manual mirrors are generally cheaper, but they require adjustments by hand and often come in plain black. Power mirrors cost more as do specialty chrome mirrors or those with custom shapes. The retail price for a replacement mirror alone for various Ford Mustangs can cost up to $150 or more. Installation by a mechanic may cost more, but most car owners should be able to install the mirrors themselves.

Save on Mirrors and Other Ford Parts

Though Mustang mirrors can be anywhere from reasonably priced to outrageous, you can save on the retail cost by purchasing from a trusted source with great deals. Here at PriceGeek.com, you can get the manual or power mirrors you want to install on your Mustang, and there are many options if you want distinctive vintage mirrors to fit on an older car, too. Why spend more elsewhere to get the same equipment for your Ford Mustang?

I called around town for a new passenger side mirror and received the following quotes. The Ford dealer said $463 tax included, A parts store $179 and a junk yard said we don't have any. I got on www.google.com for 2012 mustang passenger side mirror and clicked shopping and found Parts Geek to be the lowest price, but was scepticle since the price was so low compared to the other quotes. I was glad to be wrong when I received the entire part I needed. I hope I don't have to order new parts for a new car, but since my daughter is driving now I might, I will definitely check out Parts Geeks first!
