Dealer wanted over $150 to replace the strut, picked this up for a fraction of the price and very happy with the quality and to be able to save some money. It was also very easy to install, took less than 10 minutes, and all you need is a flathead screwdriver to pry the clips out that hold the strut to the hood. Would be helpful to have someone else to help hold the hood while you do it or even to shove a piece of wood in there to prop it but its totally possible to do it on your own. Also love that it came with new clips.

The part is an exact replacement for my worn out hood strut, which would not hold the hood open. Installation was simple. A hint, do not completely remove the C-clip (spring steel) around the ball joint on either end - just pull it partially off, then snap it back in place once the strut has been placed in position. Much easier.
