What Are Brake Pads?

When you push on the brake pedal, brake pads create friction by pressing on the brake disc or rotor, which then slows down or stops your vehicle.

How Much Do Brake Pads Cost?

At, our wide selection of Porsche Cayman brake pads allows you to find the right brake pads for your vehicle and your budget. Most of our brake pads cost between $50 and $140, with the exact price depending on the following:

  • Brand
  • Materials
  • Placement (rear or front)
  • Your vehicle’s year, make, and model

Do You Need to Buy Rotors When You Buy New Brake Pads?

While new rotors are not always required when you purchase new brake pads, they are recommended. Because brake pads push against rotors, when brake pads wear down, the rotor may have also worn down to below minimum thickness. This can lead to pulsing or noise from the brakes when pressing on the brake pedal, even with new brake pads. Replacing the rotors when you replace brake pads can save you the headache from another repair.

I have not received the product purchased. The items where shipped signature required, which was not indicated at the time of purchase. I am away for 10 days and had to jump through some hoops to get the delivery put on a vacation hold. Hopefully the order will arrive next week.

These fit my 2010 Cayman S perfectly. Fronts and rears went in easily, could literally tell no difference between the OEM (also Textar) pads and the new pads, though the painted-on numbers were different (cast-in numbers on the metal part of the pad were identical to OEM). No issues re-using the brake sensors - they popped right in. Probably the quickest, easiest brake job I've ever done. Two months in and the pads are wearing well and have had no problems.
