2010 Toyota Prius Lower Engine Cover

I called the local auto part stores and they all told me this was a dealership specific item. So I called a Toyota dealership parts department and the quote they gave me on this part was the exact 276$ listing price parts geek showed; except parts geek had it on sale for a fraction of that cost! (I forgot the exact amount but it was around 90% off) I got the part in a big box that was very light to carry (it fit in my Prius with the seats down) I took it to a local mechanic shop and told them I wanted a transmission and radiator coolant drain and fill. And mentioned that in the box I have the undercar splash shield but I don't have any bolts or fasteners so they managed to have the parts for that. I got that service along with the install for 200$ flat.

Now I can drive in the rain and not worry about any undercar corrosion damage :)

Fit 2010 Prius with 1 minor hole adjustment. Transferred insulation from old shield. Push pins not included. Securely jacking up the car is the most difficult part. Excellent value, quality seems same as original.

Wish it comes with instructions on how and which direction to install. Doesn't have the foam and plastic on the inside, need to take it from the old panel and transfer it here. Holes doesn't align very well with my 2010 Prius, end up having to put on zip ties on most areas. The middle part sag, don't know why, but have to improvise and fasten the center bulge in an awkward position. Anyhow, got the job done, and I'm okay with it.

This product was exactly the same price the local dealership offered.. in hindsight I believe I should have drove to the dealership so that I could have saved on any additional delivery charge that may have resulted (delivery for this and the other undercar shield was 44$) regardless the part came in a box. I took it to the dealership and they installed it. They didn't mention anything negative about the shield. I digg this website because clearly it is authentic.

The shield plate went on easily as expected. The plastic pins/clips that hold it in place don't come with it, so get a pack or two of them from Toyota before you start. This plate has a metal bracket to help hold the access panel over the oil filter and drain which the original didn't have and which caused the failure that led to my buying this one. It seems like this extra bracket is a better design. The original does have a second sheet/layer to add a noise dampener to the panel. I didn't swap the extra damper over, but this weekend I am going to take the shield down, add the dampener and re-install the shield. Hope that lowers the noise even more. All in all a good buy.

The product was as pictured, but it did not come with what appeared to be sound absorbing parts that were on the original shield with push clips. Not noticeable until the old damaged shield was removed.
