2000 Mazda Protege Air Intake Hose

The intake hose was exactly as requested, however had one problem. The small hole in the large air intake hose where a small hose is attached to allow air into the engine was blocked with a thin piece of rubber. There was no indication that this blockage had to be cleared during the installation. If not cleared, the engine makes a whining sound while running.
