The 1999-2004 Land Rover Discovery Thermostat is supplied with a protective housing and is designated for the Series II sub-models in the vehicle series. It is a single replacement product that restores the original temperature control performance in the engine compartment. The engine's coolant is blocked from flowing by the thermostat until normal operating temperature is reached. When the thermostat valve opens, coolant can flow, but it also allows the engine to heat up quickly when turned on, reducing wear as well as atmospheric emissions. The build-up of potentially damaging deposits can be lessened as well with the new thermostat and its optimal performance.
