The Airtex Fuel Pump can be installed on Chevrolet Cavaliers with model years 1996, 1997 and 1998. Generally, Fuel Pumps are installed inside your fuel tank; because liquid gasoline isn't inflammable, this is the safest area for installation. A Fuel Pump is a vacuum device that works to move gas from the tank to the engine. A Fuel Pump creates pressure in the gas assembly to force gasoline from the gas tank to the engine. Since electronic precision injectors have almost entirely replaced old fuel delivery mechanisms, modern Fuel Pumps have to pump fuel under pressure; they are thus electronic. Your Fuel Pump moves gas from the tank to your car's motor, where it's blended with oxygen for burning within the cylinders. Chevrolet Cavaliers from the years 1996, 1997 and 1998 are compatible with this Fuel Pump. Different vehicles may not be compatible, so this Fuel Pump is not intended to be used on those vehicles.
