Vemo makes this camshaft position sensor for use on 1996 and 1997 Mercedes E320 vehicles. The camshaft position sensor detects the position of the pistons. This information is used to hone the timing of the engine's spark plugs. Performance may suffer if the camshaft position sensor does not work. This sensor is made for use on Mercedes E320 vehicles made in 1996 and 1997. Other vehicles may not have timing systems that are compatible with this particular camshaft position sensor.
