The car's Steering Rack works along with a device called a pinion to help power the steering system. The Steering Rack unites the rod to the pinion in the vehicle's rack-and-pinion steering setup. Volkswagen Jettas from the years '99, '00, '01, '02, '03, '04 and '05 will work with this Steering Rack. Other cars or trucks are unlikely to be compatible, so this part should not be used in other makes and models.
