The exhaust gases pass into the muffler. The muffler will reflect sound waves toward the gases that are emitting their own sound waves. When the waves meet, many of them cancel each other out. This sound canceling quiets the engine exhaust sound. Bosal mufflers come with a warranty against manufacturer defects. This muffler is recommended for installation on 1995 to 1999 BMW 318ti vehicles. It may not be compatible other vehicles' exhaust systems.
