The Water Pump in an integral component of the engine cooling system. It is bolted to the front of the engine, towards the top, and pumps hot coolant through the upper radiator hose from the engine to the radiator where it is cooled. The cooled coolant returns to the engine through the lower radiator hose. The water pump keeps this cycle going. Over time, the bearing that the impeller, inside the pump, is pressed into fails.
