One of the ongoing problems of automotive maintenance is managing engine temperature. Internal combustion engines put off a lot of heat: each individual explosion combines with the others to create an environment that is hardly friendly and safe. Excessive engine heat can be very dangerous for your car: it can damage engine components and eventually cause your vehicle to break down. In order to keep your engine in good working condition, then, it is critical to keep tabs on your engine cooling system. This system is designed to manage heat in the engine compartment by removing heat energy from the engine components. This generally begins with the radiator, which is placed behind the grille of the car. The radiator is filled with tubes and hoses, all filled with a coolant fluid. A pump circulates this fluid through the system, including a network of tubes that pass close to the engine. As the coolant fluid passes through the engine, heat from the engine warms the fluid. The coolant then travels back to the radiator, where heat dissipates into the air. The radiator fan plays a key role by encouraging air circulation around the radiator.
