Replacement Fuel Pressure Regulator Information
If you have a vested interest in making sure that your car runs smoothly (and most of us do), you’ll want to make sure that your fuel delivery system is in good shape. Your engine relies on a steady, controlled stream of fuel in order to function properly – so your dependence on this system remains more or less absolute. One key part of your fuel delivery system is the fuel pressure regulator, which is responsible for keeping the pressure in the system as a whole at a constant pressure (as measured in psi). How does it work? It’s an amazingly simple device that is based on a valve controlled by a spring-loaded diaphragm. When pressure in the fuel lines gets too high for the system to withstand, the valve opens and fuel runs down an auxiliary fuel line back to the fuel tank. As a general rule, this valve-diaphragm connection is unlikely to break, as there simply is not much that can go wrong. If you do suspect a problem, however, consider replacing the vacuum line that enters the valve with clear tubing. With clear tubing in place, you’ll be able to see the leak (if there is one). I usually check out the various forums to see who they use and PartsGeek.com even beat their recommendations! Shipping cost were very very, very fair at $6.50 for (14) large bolts and all the gaskets. They shipped out the same day I ordered them and they arrived the next day. (Shipped from same state I live in) Other retailers offered free shipping, but PartsGeek.com still beat them in the end. I will definitely re-order from them in the future for my automotive needs.
