Fuel combustion is an important part of any vehicle's performance. To deliver maximum performance without wasting energy, a precise mixture of air and fuel is required. To accomplish precise accuracy of this goal, most engines use an advanced fuel injection system. Among the necessary components in this system is the Air mass meter. This little piece of equipment is typically located near the air filter. It's job is to measure and regulate the amount of air entering the intake system at a given time. This ensures that the right amount of oxygen is being fed into the combustion chamber at any given time. To achieve this, the meter is electronically connected to the onboard computer. Through this connection, the component monitors fluid flow in the engine and adjusts air flow accordingly. Two types of air mass meters exist – hot wire and vane meter. They differ in the way they measure the amount of air volume found in the intake stream.
