Have you ever wondered how your vehicle's air conditioning system creates ice-cold temperatures from hot summer air? A car or truck's AC system is highly technical and requires several different components to deliver reliably cold temperatures. At the center of it all is the AC evaporator. This hunk of metal and coils is located inside the heater case and can not be seen simply by popping the hood of your car. As Freon passes through this vital component, it causes the coils to become very cold. A nearby blower fan pulls the cold air dissipating of the evaporator and pushes it into the air vents of the car or truck. From here, the air enters the cabin, greeting you with a welcoming cool breeze. If you've ever wondered why water drips from your engine when you blast the air conditioning, it's due to this part of the system. The cooling effect causes condensation to form on the exterior of the evaporator. Eventually, this condensation drips and falls to the ground on the passenger side of the vehicle.
