The Mercedes 450SEL is equipped with power windows, also referred to as electric windows, all around. Each window is controlled in its movement up or down by an electronic window switch, placed conveniently on the armrest of the door holding the window that that switch operates. Switches on the driver's door may also contain a lock-out feature that can be engaged to prevent occupants in the back seat from operating their windows, which is especially important for safety reasons when children are riding in the back.
