Porsche 928 Replacement Valve Cover Gasket Information
A rubber sealer for valve covers, the 928 Porsche valve cover gasket locks in oil from the engine combustion process so it doesn't leak all over the place. Also known as a rocker cover gasket, the 928 Porsche valve cover gasket has to work perfectly all the time or risk significant damage to engine parts and other components. It has to be made strong to withstand the violent combustion process. Located between the engine and valve cover, the gasket can rot or crack and need to be replaced. Signs of this failure include a burning oil smell and oil spilled over the engine body. The Porsche 928 is an amazing advanced engineering marvel of a two-seat roadster sports car manufactured from 1978 to 1995. Owners monitor performance and look for signs of oil leaks, then take care of the valve cover gasket if it has lost its sealing power.
