Acura Legend Replacement Valve Cover Gasket Information
Valve covers are made from pressed steel or aluminum and must be protected from oil leaks by a Legend Acura valve cover gasket. Also referred to as a rocker cover gasket, the Legend Acura valve cover gasket is located between the engine and valve cover. It has to withstand the violent operation of engine cylinders. If the valve cover gasket allows oil to leak out of the combustion process, the engine is doomed.
As with any rubber part, the Legend Acura valve cover gasket can rot, crack and fray. Symptoms of this includes, oil spilled on the engine and the smell of oil after driving. Either way, the part has to be replaced as soon as possible rather than risk engine operation. The Acura Legend is a full-size luxury sedan produced from 1986 to 1995. Owners keep the valve cover gasket sealing properly or replace it to keep the engine humming.
