Chevy has produced the muscle car of the legendary line of Corvettes for many years. The first corvettes were fashioned from an aluminum body to create a light and rigid sports car chassis. Corvette trunks and hoods have always opened and been held open by the use of a spring or gas loaded strut. These struts as time goes on become week and often require replacement. Replacement Corvette Trunk Struts manufactured for Chevy applications are a great way of protecting your Corvettes looks and value. When a trunk lid is left with a week strut the trunk slams extra hard often chipping fiberglass and marring paint. Replacing a trunk strut is really a cheap way to care for your corvette. The gas charged variations often leak the gas out of the seals. When gas is leaked from the seals the struts no longer function. Spring struts are basically the same the spring starts to sag and no longer performs the lifting action required by the strut on the trunk.
