Lexus LS460 Replacement TPMS Sensor Information
First appearing in European vehicles in the 1980s, TPMS or tire pressure monitoring system is a means of determining the exact pressure of a tire and reporting it to the driver for purposes of safety and efficiency. The TPMS sensor is located inside of the tire and uses a small radio transmitter to send a signal to the receiver and then to the vehicle computer where it is often displayed on the dashboard or console readout. The Lexus LS460 utilizes TPMS to inform the driver of imminent tire failure or underinflation that could result in a loss of fuel efficiency or vehicle control.
