It's not surprising that high-end drivers understand how to turbocharge the performance level of their Mazda Miata by installing performance-maximizing auto parts. Mazda designs cars that are made to ensure ultimate performance, and like their other models, the Miata simply can't deliver as designed without the correct replacement parts. High performance road demons, such as the high-octane Mazda Miata, are built to be pushed past tolerances, and later treated well. For powerful performance and effortless maneuverability consumers select vehicles manufactured by Mazda. If you got a Mazda, you enjoy classic lines plus also the craftsmanship that this respected manufacturer is known for. Your Mazda was created with quality and craftsmanship; it should have new components of a similar top level of quality. You chose a high-performance vehicle to take advantage of its awesome power and performance, support your decision and use first rate aftermarket parts. Fantastic capability and road performance are dependent on outstanding components and accessories. Mazda Miata Timing Belts are unlike from chains due to their construction; they are not as sturdy, but they generally don't get stretched over time, especially when timing gears have broken cogs, as a timing chain may do. Your Mazda Miata Timing Belt should be switched out periodically so as to prevent engine damage; they tend to stop functioning after driving around 100,000 miles. Your Mazda Miata Timing Belt coordinates the timing of your engine's camshaft with that of the crankshaft, making the valves to open and shut in sync. Usually the most frustrating thing about repairing an older vehicle is searching for a top-rated source for reliable parts. The best way to safeguard any car or truck's performance is with our outstanding parts and incredible customer service. No matter whether you drive a sporty coupe or a hard working truck, we have the parts you want right here at www.PartsGeek.com.

Research on Timing Belt for Mazda Miata

A timing belt is a ripped belt that is normally placed on one side of the engine to keep the crankshafts and the crank properly timed. A timing belt is available on all vehicles since the 1990's. New manufacturers like Audi use metallic timing chains that last longer than the previous ones. Timing belts keep the cylinder heads and the valves in sync with the pistons and the crankcase. It is advisable to refer to the owner's manual of the car for the maintenance schedule. In case you find that you do not have timing belt on the manual, check for a timing chain. Manufacturers advise that you plan for schedules of when to change the timing belt. The rule of thumb is to change after five years of use or after 60,000 miles. It is also important to note that different engine configurations react differently when the timing belt snaps. For the interface engine that have the valves and the piston stroke in the same space, these components run into each other after the belt snaps, causing damage to these components. If you have a non-interface configuration, in the event that the timing belt snaps, there is no damage that occurs.

How can I change a snapped timing belt in my Mazda Miata?

There are different tools that are needed for this particular exercise; a ratchet, breaker bar, assorted extensions, open-ended wrenches, Torx sockets, hex sockets. A reverse Torx sockets, jack stands, pry bar, screwdriver set, torque wrench, razor blades, wire brush, gloves, oil pan and a hydraulic jack. It is very important to acquire a quality timing belt since replacing it takes after five years. Besides getting the belt, purchase a timing belt tensioner, water pump, and pulleys. Engage the vehicle on parking, release the lug nuts, place a brick behind the back wheel and put your breaker bar on the socket, turn clockwise and remove the lug nuts using a normal ratchet. Place the hydraulic jack under the car's frame, raise the car and lace the jack stand under the car to secure a great position. Remove the front wheels and start loosening up the crank pulley bolt. This pulley paves the way for one to access the timing belt. Using a ratchet, remove the auto tensioners making it easy to remove the accessory belts. The crank pulley is the next component to be removed; it is not easy for this process to take place since rust and heat have welded the pulley and the crank together. Using a pronged pulley puller, hold one end and using a socket, create a tension in the middle, making the pulley be pulled out easily. Next, remove the timing belt covers, then the timing belt tensioner and then the timing belt. Install the timing belt and the other components in the order that you removed them.
