Nissan Quest Replacement Tie Rod Information
Tie rods are used in a variety of applications in everything from airplane manufacturing and building construction to steam locomotives to bridge building. These are structural units used to tie two parts of a design together, supporting them with a precise amount of predetermined tension. Tie rods are also used as critical components in an automobile's steering system. This application is unique in that automobile tie rods provide both tension and compression, subject to the forces of both pulling and pushing. The length of an automobile tie rod is made to be adjustable, which is necessary in order to adjust a car's wheel alignment. Car tie rods eventually wear to the point of requiring replacement and should be checked annually to determine their condition. Typical life expectancy is roughly 100,000 miles. When driving a Nissan Quest minivan it is noticed the vehicle is slightly wandering, displaying irregular steering tendencies or tire wear, it may be time to replace the Nissan Quest tie rods.
