BMW 335i Replacement Tie Rod Information
Your BMW 335i's tie rods are mechanical devices connecting its rack and pinion steering assemblage to its wheels. When you turn your steering wheel, the end of the steering shaft engages a perpendicularly oriented metal tube called the steering rack. The steering rack terminates in tie rods that are located within housing in each of your two front wheels. This is how the rotational movement of the steering wheel is translated to the linear movement of your wheels. If something happens to this linkage, you will lose control of your car. In the beginning stages of this process, your steering wheel will feel loose to your and it will vibrate as you turn it. As the damage progresses, these vibrations will affect your entire car.
