Pontiac Aztek Replacement Tailgate Strut Information
Known for daring design, the Aztek Pontiac tailgate strut has to work tough to lift and hold the rear tailgate. In a similar manner to a shock absorber, the Aztek Pontiac tailgate strut is a gas housing spring that is compressed until needed. This allows the tailgate to stay in place and not block driver sight. When the latch is released, the tailgate strut combines air with pressure to lift up the tailgate.
The Aztek Pontiac tailgate strut is a hydraulic support for lifting and closing the rear tailgate safely and consistently. The part is built strong. However, gas springs can fail or be damaged through accidents and other factors. The Pontiac Aztek is a much discussed crossover mid-size sport utility vehicle built from 2001 to 2005. Owners make the rear tailgate a simple open and close affair with a fully functioning tailgate strut or replace it if needed.
