Kia Spectra Replacement Strut Mount Information
Your Kia Spectra is equipped with a set of four suspension struts, one at each corner, and each strut is attached to the body of the vehicle by a device called a strut mount. Strut mounts are configured like a rubber sandwich, with strong metal plates taking the place of the bread. While they serve as secure anchors between the suspension struts and the car body, they also function to cushion the ride, reduce noise and smooth out unwanted vibrations. Strut mounts on the front end also act as pivots for the steering system and incorporate bearings to facilitate this function. While most people realize that suspension struts wear out with use and age, they may not know that the strut mounts also wear out, and in about the same amount of time.
