Honda Pilot Replacement Strut Mount Information
The strut mount does exactly what you would think it does: acts as the place where struts are mounted. Struts are used to insulate you and your passengers from sharp bumps. Without struts, every small bump in the road would jostle you violently. The strut mount holds the strut to the body of the car. Also, it acts as a sound damper. The tires make a significant amount of noise as they move over the road. The Pilot's strut mounts insulate the cabin from this noise and make your ride smooth and nearly noise-free.
In addition to holding the struts in place the strut mount on the Honda Pilot helps ensure the tires' proper alignment. If tires are improperly aligned, one or more tires may wear quicker than the others, requiring replacement at odd intervals.
