BMW 330i Replacement Strut Mount Information
When it comes time to change the suspension struts on your BMW 330i, it's important to remember that if a strut has gone bad, the strut mount likely needs to be replaced too. The strut mount consists of two metal plates separated by a thick piece of rubberized material that acts as an anchor for the strut to the car's body. The rubber cushions the strut and helps minimize road noise and vibration and also smoothes out bumps. In addition, the center of the strut mount contains a bearing that's used by the vehicle's steering system as a pivot point. This bearing eventually wears and needs replacement.
