BMW 740iL Replacement Strut Bellows Information
While top working car suspension relies on top working struts, the struts rely on the strut bellows for protection. Also called strut boots, the strut bellows are essential to protecting your BMW 740iL's hard working strut assembly components like shock absorbers, spring seats and steering knuckles. The bellows are made of rubber with folds snugly covering struts. This protects struts from dirt, mud, water and all manner of road debris so they can do their thing safety and securely. Essential to maintaining strong suspension parts, the bellows have to be replaced as necessary. Most of the cost associated with this replacement comes from mechanic labor rather the cost of the inexpensive part. Since the strut has to be disassembled to address any problems there, the strut bellows routinely are replaced at that time as well. Your vehicle's strut bellows are important parts that need to be periodically checked or completely replaced.
