Infiniti I30 Replacement Steering Rack Information
This affordable sedan boasts a comfortable interior and powerful drivetrain. A 200-watt sound system and plush leather upholstery are standard. Other notable features include side-impact airbags, traction control, and antilock brakes. This car uses a rack and pinion system, so you will have to replace the steering rack at some point.
Changing a steering rack can be a difficult job. This component reacts to the movement of the steering wheel, changing your car's direction. It is basically a rod located inside the steering unit. Steering racks are metal pieces on which gears slide back and forth. Most cars manufactured after the late 1970s are equipped with this system. The steering rack is subject to wear and tear. It is advisable to replace it every 150,000 miles. When damaged, this device may cause a grinding noise and vibration.
