Toyota MR2 Replacement Slave Cylinder Information
The MR2 Toyota slave cylinder comes in many forms. Found in the brake system as a master cylinder, it also is found as a wheel cylinder or brake cylinder and in power steering systems. The slave cylinder works in the clutch for cars with a manual transmission. The clutch cylinder operates gears when the vehicle is moving, but when the clutch is depressed, the slave cylinder starts working. Pressurized, it acts like a lever forcing other cylinders to work.
When the driver releases the clutch pedal, the MR2 Toyota slave cylinder pushrod releases the latch on gears allowing a specific gear to engage properly. If the clutch slave cylinder malfunctions, drivers will not be able to shift vehicle gears. To keep the drive in gear, the slave cylinder has to work or be replaced promptly.
They are available for the following Toyota MR2 years: 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992, 1991, 1989, 1988, 1987, 1986, 1985, 95, 94, 93, 92, 91, 89, 88, 87, 86, 85.
