Porsche 911 Replacement Reference Sensor Information
The Porsche 911 is likely the most recognized sports car ever made and also holds the distinction of being the second most continuously produced car in history. First made available in 1963, the 911 continues to be produced to this day and is second in longevity only to the Volkswagen Beetle, its first cousin, which remained in production from 1938 until 2003. Both cars are automotive icons and will go down in history as the top vehicles in their respective classes. A Porsche 911 reference sensor is a part critical to the vehicle's ignition and fuel delivery systems. Most 911 owners probably have no idea that the part even exists, but when it is no longer functioning properly they will soon be aware of its vital importance. The reference sensor is responsible for sensing the speed of the engine and the crankshaft's relative position in order to tell the fuel injectors the optimum moment to fire the air/fuel mixture into the various cylinders. When it's not functioning as it should the reference sensor will need replacement as this electronic part is crucial to the engine's performance.
