Lexus LS400 Replacement Radiator Hose Information
Radiator hoses are part of your Lexus LS400's cooling system. They attach to the inlet and outlet necks of the radiator that circulates coolant through chambers in your engine block. Internal combustion engines operate most efficiently when they're hot, but temperatures over 180 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit will begin to damage moving parts in the engine. To prevent the engine from becoming too hot, coolant circulates through the engine block and then returns to the radiator to cool back down before being recirculated again. The coolant flows through radiator hoses. Molded radiator hoses are specially designed to sit in the engines of specific makes of cars, while flex radiator hoses can fit in many different makes of cars. Nonetheless, automobile mechanics recommend using molded radiator hoses whenever possible because they're more resistant to leaks.
