Research on Radiator for Toyota Tundra

When your engine is running, it generates an immense amount of heat which has to be somehow dissipated to keep your engine from overheating. This makes the radiator an integral part of your engine since it disperses all that hot air to keep your engine running at an optimal temperature. The radiator is located at the front of your vehicle's engine; the radiator is usually attached to a pair of brackets at the top and rests on rubber bushings at the bottom. It consists of a number of tubes through which the coolant flows. The cooling process begins when the water pump sends the coolant to the engine, which goes around the cylinders and picks up heat produced by the combustion and friction of the engine. Radiators are usually made out of copper and brass, aluminum and plastic. A problem with your radiator can pose a problem to the overall functioning of your vehicle.

Toyota Tundra Radiator Leaking and other Common Problems

Your radiator uses liquid coolant in the cooling process, and the easiest way to know if your radiator is leaking is to inspect your garage floor and driveway, leaking radiator fluid is usually sticky and either green, orange or pink. A leaking radiator may also produce steam from the leaking area; If you notice your temperature gauge rising, experience frequent overheating with a quick drop in your vehicle's coolant reservoir then you need to check your coolant for leaks. Other common radiator problems include; a clogged radiator due to corrosion inside the radiator, the exterior of your radiator may be damaged by rough terrain resulting to punctures, leaks, bent or broken fins. A cracked radiator cap also causes radiator leaks. A regular Toyota Tundra radiator flush is a good maintenance practice to get rid of radiator sludge that may have built over time affecting your engine performance and gas mileage.

Replacing Your Toyota Tundra Radiator

Replacing your radiator is worth every penny, rather than having to deal with an overheating and underperforming engine. If your Tundra's radiator has totally failed then you can replace it for a total of $521 to $704, the labor involved is most likely to cost you between $156 to $222 with parts going for $365 to $482. While you are having all this done, have an entire cooling system check. This may be one of the more expensive repairs but quite crucial.

Your Radiator's Maintenance

Your radiator's maintenance is quite essential to keep your cooling system functioning optimally. Regularly check your cooling fluid levels to prevent overheating in hot climates and freezing in cold weather. Have your radiator flushed every 1 to 2 years to get rid of sludge, sediments, and rust. Check your hoses and belts for leaks and cracks. This will increase the life of your radiator and keep your engine in great shape. Reviewer: Good Replacement For 2004 Toyota Tundra Double Cab V8 Limited

Had a small seeping leak in the bottom of my old radiator and wanted to replace it before Winter. This Denso radiator was a perfect fit replacement for the original radiator with 1 upper/1 lower coolant hoses and 2 automatic tranny fluid lines in the bottom. The mounting brackets and 4 mounting bolt holes weren't as "bomber" as the original but were fine and installation was easy. The only complaint is that in the packaging the foam pieces in the Denso original box had all come off of the radiator so it was loose in the box with a bunch of foam squares loose everywhere. Fortunately the radiator fins were not damaged at all. Delivery for me was super fast, 2 days.

My radiator went out and I called the local Tire Kingdom to replace it. They wanted $645.00 to do it. I got on here and found one for $200.00 and I had it the next day. I watched a YouTube video to see the procedure and had it done in less than an hour. Very happy with service and surprised myself how easy it was!

It had a small amount of damage to the fins of the radiator from shipping (not enough packing to protect it) . I hope that it will hold pressure when installed in my truck.
