Jeep CJ7 Replacement Radiator Information
You may be replacing your Jeep CJ7 radiator because it has become damaged or because it has developed a leak. In either case, there are certain steps and guidelines you should follow. Depending on factors such as budget and the time you plan to keep your Jeep CJ7, you should consider optional radiator replacement markets such as those that sell re-built, new OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), and used. Avoid buying used unless you will be able to examine the radiator and test it for possible damage and leaks. In buying any radiator from Internet suppliers, be certain your replacement radiator will fit the connections for the radiator you're replacing. Before disconnecting your old radiator, take precautions to avoid getting scalded by heated coolant. Place a towel over the radiator cap and remove the cap slowly. When your coolant is safely drained into a container, begin removing the radiator by disconnecting hoses, wiring, clamps, moldings, etc. Finish by loosening and removing bolts, brackets, and mounts that connect the radiator to your Jeep. In installing the new radiator make sure all hoses, clamps, etc., are in place and securely fastened. Check for leaky connections by filling the radiator with coolant.
