Mazda 6 Replacement Purge Valve Information
The purge valve, also called the canister purge valve, is an essential part of the emission control system. It determines how much fuel vapor can leave the fuel tank and be re-injected into the engine. This allows the fuel and air mixture to be correct and ensures the proper functioning of your car. If the canister purge valve becomes damaged, fuel vapors will build up inside the charcoal canister, causing the engine to choke. The fuel will be too rich, which can eventually damage your spark plugs. A faulty purge valve prevents the recycling of the fuel vapors, which will cause your vehicle to fail the emissions test. It is important to replace this device when needed. The replacement purge valve must match the same type used previously.
