One of the simplest parts in your Beamer to replace is the oil pan. It doesn't have any power to it and it doesn't spin around or do anything fancy. What it does do is catch the oil that drips out of your engine. Over time in your 318ti, the oil pan can become bent, warped or even develop a hole in it. You should change the oil pan sooner than later because if the oil isn't dripping into the pan, it will drip onto things under the hood, which can lead to problems - including a fire.
