Ford Windstar Replacement Muffler Information
The Ford Windstar is a popular family car because it is a minivan with ample passenger and cargo space. The Windstar was available from 1994 until 2007 and all model years used V6 engines. These engines generate a lot of power but they also generate a lot of noise in the exhaust system. The noise from the exhaust needs to be eliminated and that is where the muffler comes in.
A muffler is an easily recognizable metal part of the exhaust system that is made of an inlet, outlet, and a resonator chamber. The noise from the exhaust system enters the muffler and bounces around the resonator chamber. Perforations on the inlet and outlet tubes create destructive sound interference that cancels out the noise created in the system. When the muffler has problems the Windstar will be noticeably louder. Replacement mufflers for the Ford Windstar are available through Parts Geek.
